Connecting to Strengthen Advocacy In Education Conference
My name is Chantelle and I am on the Board of Directors of BCEdAccess. I am also mom to 2 extraordinary boys that I currently homeschool (just for the year!). I am passionate about Inclusion and had my own radio show on CIVL101.7 in Abbotsford called All In, and started not only an inclusion subcommittee at my school, but an inclusion committee while co-chair of DPAC.
Workshop: How to bring a mindset of Inclusion to your School.
I will share my experience of starting an Inclusion Subcommittee through my kids School Parent Advisory Council. I will then break down what PAC’s/DPAC’s can do and what the protocol is. How to advance within that framework so that folks can start their own inclusion committees within their school or district to bring a mindset of inclusion to their school communities.
We will be doing a hands on workshop discovering who in your school/district is a good point of contact, ways to move up the ladder, and how to convince folks this is a good idea. I will also share a few more ideas on bringing the mindset of inclusion to your school board and community as a whole.
