VICTORIA, BC (October 19, 2018) – BCEdAccess is thrilled to announce the appointment of our first Board of Directors as we take the next step toward becoming a not for profit society in BC.
Chantelle Morvay-Adams has been a longtime member and an important part of the administrative team of our organization. She is a strong advocate in her own community, has created her school PAC Inclusion Subcommittee, and has a radio show dedicated to inclusion.
Nicole Kaler has been a longtime active member as well, and a vocal advocate for the inclusion and education of all students. Through personally connecting and through speaking engagements, she has shared her knowledge and experience in advocating through all levels of the system with other parents so that they are empowered to assert the Human Rights of their children.
“As we look ahead, Chantelle and Nicole will be outstanding founding members of our Board. They’ve each been involved with BCEdAccess for years and we are excited about the unique expertise that they bring as we organize for the future,” BCEdAccess Society founder and new Board Chair, Tracy Humphreys, says.
The Board of Directors will provide BCEdAccess Society with governance to steer the organization’s operations and ensure fiscal responsibility.
The BCEdAccess Society’s Board of Directors is as follows:
- Tracy Humphreys – Chair
- Nicole Kaler – Treasurer
- Chantelle Morvay-Adams – Secretary

About BCEdAccess
Founded in 2014 by a small group of parents struggling to get their kids support at school, BCEdAccess has grown to over 1500 members. The organization has completed two surveys and a report, Forced Out, which found parents of children with special needs were feeling forced to pull their kids from public schools. Their survey found 44% of members note they have no access to specialized services, 42% cite inadequate training for educational assistants, and 43% said schools are not following their child’s
individual education plan. The report, recommendations and current activities and resources can be found on theirwebsite: http://www.bcedaccess.com

Have you connected with the Family Support Institute at all. They are an amazing group
Thanks Wendy! We are definitely connected with them, and often send parents their way for advocacy support. Angela and I (Tracy) will be speaking together at a conference next month, too!
Amazing advocacy, amazing women — best of luck 🤗
