Kindergarten to Grade 12 students with disabilities or extra support needs and their parents who are feeling disconnected during COVID-19 will have a chance to get together and have fun, through a series of free online social groups by the BCEdAccess Society, running from January 4th to February 19th, 2021.
Thanks to support from the Canadian Red Cross and the Government of Canada, these social groups will foster connection and positive mental wellness for parents and children throughout the province.
BCEdAccess has engaged experienced facilitators with a criminal record check to create a fun and engaging space on Zoom for participants. Sessions will include Minecraft, music trivia, an LGBTQ2SIIA+ space for teens, inclusive dance and movement, vision boarding, anime and a gender inclusive princess party!
Participants can take part in any or all of the social groups over 7 weeks. We’re currently arranging captioning and ASL interpretation, and we are working on arranging other language interpretation as well for folks who may need that support.
See the calendar below – click on the Agenda tab at the top right for a clear list view, and click on the title of each session for more details about it, as well as the link to sign up!
