Wednesday, June 16 from 6:00-7:00 pm
Come and join us for a new pop-up reading with “One Too Many” author, Linda Grace Smith. The author will be joining us, all ages are welcome and ASL will be available. Unlike some of our previous reading events, this event is a webinar. We’ve only released 25 tickets for the event, but if you don’t make it in time to register for a Zoom link, you’ll still be able to join the event on our Facebook live.
So, what are the benefits of registering? All registered attendees will be entered into a random draw, and we’ll be giving away two books following the event! If you register on our Eventbrite today, all you have to do is attend via the Zoom webinar link to be eligible your chance for a copy of the book.
With child friendly language and rhyming verse, Linda Grace Smith explores the value and power of one. To begin, One Too Many introduces children’s rights. It touches on the basics of shelter, clothing, healthcare, food, water, education, safety and belonging. Then, it sparks conversations towards practical action and community transformation.
Certainly, as long as one child remains without basic rights, we each have opportunity to resist oppression and seek dignity and justice. As Edward Everett Hale powerfully confesses, ‘I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.
